Filming

Start Date: February 19
End Date: May or June

Test shooting began on January the 26, 2009 and will continue to February 19th, when the actual movie will start being filmed up until Spring 2010 (fifty-four weeks due to the fact that parts one and two will be shot at the same time). We can expect both movies to be finished filming around March 4, 2010.

The filming of landscapes began in November 2008.

Filming began on the February 19, 2009.

Some of the scenes will be shot in Pembrokeshire, as reported by WalesOnline.

Around April 21 2009, some shots were taken in London for the Tottenham Court Road scene.

Shell Cottage scenes have been filmed on May 11-15 2009.

Some forest scenes will be shot in Swinley Forest in Bracknell, England. Sets are currently being prepared

Ron and Hermione's kiss has been filmed. It took place June 5 2009.

The "Seven Potters" scene was filmed around Dartford Tunnel in Kent, England on or about July 25th.

Scenes involving Scrimgeour were to be filmed the first week of August, 2009.

The Wedding scene is to be filmed August 10th.

Rumours are about that the Seven Potters chase scene may be partially filmed in, at, or around Bovingdon Airfield.
Ralph Fiennes, who plays Voldemort, will begin shooting Deathly Hallows: Pt. 2 in the fall.

Filming of the Gringotts scene will take place in October.

David Yates has confirmed that Harry will be naked for two pivotal scenes in the film. He will first be naked for a scene where Ron sees a series of images between which are Harry and Hermione kissing and embracing. David says the scene is very sexy and intriguing. Harry's second naked appearance will be in the Kings Cross scene where Harry almost dies and sees Dumbledore.

Battle of Hogwarts scenes were being filmed in December 2009 and possibly will go on until much later.

Below is a video of filming location Swinley Forest, where many forest scenes for the film were filmed:

Split

THE SPLIT WILL BE RIGHT AFTER HARRY, RON, AND HERMIONE GET CAUGHT BY THE SNATCHERS AND BEFORE THEY END UP AT MALFOY MANOR.

Do note that the split is subject to change.

Joshua Herdman - who plays Gregory Goyle in the series - said that the current plan was to split Deathly Hallows just after the trio are captured by the Snatchers and right before they are taken to Malfoy Manor. Many fans had speculated this is where the split would be, as it will provide quite a cliffhanger between films. Please note that - while this may be the current plan - the director and producers have made it clear that they could very well change where they had been thinking of splitting it if they thought a different point worked better after filming was complete.

Stuntman Injury

On January the 28th, David Holmes, the twenty-five year old stunt double for Daniel Radcliffe was reported to have been injured on the set. Paramedics were called to the set, and sources report the stuntman could not feel his legs. He was expected to make a slow recovery, which worried fans about possible days. His family issued a statement on the 30th:
We would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We are trusting in the expertise of the medical staff who are caring for David and would ask the media to please respect the privacy of our family while we concentrate on helping each other through this difficult time.
The part of Leavesden Studios where the man was injured was closed for investigation but reopened on the sixth of February, though the investigation has not stopped.
On the first of February, the man was reported as recovering, though he was still incapable of moving his arms or legs. He was taken to a hospital that specialized in spinal injuries and is expected to be back soon.
Unfortunately, preliminary reports from the fifteenth of March have shown that he is likely to be paralyzed for the rest of his life. David has everything but given up hope, however, and believes that being in the early stages of his paralysis he will eventually return to his normal state.

Directing

David Yates will be directing the film.
It is interesting to note that Alfonso Cauron (who directed the third Harry Potter movie) was tempted to direct the movie. Another director who considered was Guillermo Del Toro, but he was turned down. Rumours divulged about Steven Speilberg directing, but those were crashed.
